  Welcome to A.J.BAT

Prairie farmers have a new way to market grain - A.J.BAT, a live on-line market for cash sales of Prairie grains, oilseeds and special crops.

BID: Grain users post bids to source grain. Farmers can scan the bids and sell to the buyer offering the best net price.

ASK: Farmers post public offers to sell specific lots of grain, described by lot size, location, grade and terms of sale.

TRADE: Along with the bids and offers, A.J.BAT lists the trades. These give a record of the price of your kind of grain in your part of the country.

Background

A.J.BAT is a marketplace for grain, oilseeds, and special crops. Farmers make offers to sell. Buyers make bids. A deal is made when a buyer and a seller agree on price and terms.
A.J.BAT lets buyers nibble at your bait when you’ve got lots of time, and move your grain in a hurry when you want cash. In every case, it helps you find the highest bid.
You set the terms - price, size of lot and conditions of sale. Your offer is open to buyers around the world.
Use A.J.BAT when it makes sense for your farm.

How A.J.BAT Works

Crops: Those grown in western Canada including lentils, mustard, canary seed, rye, triticale, peas, barley, canola, flax, oats and wheat.
Conditions of Sale: Sales are finalized directly between the buyer and seller with all conditions agreed upon prior to the sale.
No Charge to List: There is no charge to either buyers or sellers to post a bid or ask. To post your bid or ask, please go to our Bid/Ask listing service.
A.J.BAT Reports: A.J.BAT listings are updated live on this web site, weekdays on DTN and FarmDayta and weekly by fax. A one year subscription costs $99 plus tax. To subscribe, please complete and submit our order form.

A.J.BAT Trading Rules

Bids and Asks are entered into A.J.BAT markets by traders with A.J.BAT trading IDs. These are issued to Prairie grain farmers and buyers.
The name and town of holders of trading IDs are listed within A.J.BAT.
Completing and submitting the on-line bid/ask form normally means buying or selling that particular lot.
When a offer towards a bid/ask is made, both parties receive the name and address of the other. Transactions are between seller and buyer. A.J.BAT plays no role.
There is no obligation for either party to deal. If you don't want to make this deal with this party, say so and everybody gets on with life.
Consider making asks in quantities handy for transportation.
Use of the A.J.BAT web site constitutes your agreeing to be bound by the Terms & Conditions for using the A.J.BAT service.
