We have expertise in seasonal weather prediction and
impact assessment for Canadian prairie and international crop production.
Composite, correlation and regression
analysis is used to assess climatic risks and estimating yield and quality in
countries such as Australia, Argentina, India, Ukraine, Russia, Kazahkstan. the
Baltics, the U.S.A.
and Canada. Twice a month clients receive reports on global agricultural
climatic risks and impacts. Click here to see a sample report.
Attempts are made to anticipate the movement
of monthly U.S.D.A. production estimates useful in determining grain prices.
These reports include independently produced estimates of global wheat, corn and
soybean production. Clients are promptly advised of episodic events affecting
yield and quality such as frost events on the Canadian prairies. Consultation is
available by telephone between write-ups.
We have a track record second to none in the specialized
and difficult field of seasonal and long-range weather and crop forecasting. Our
most recent successes include:
1)
below average spring wheat yields in Kazakhstan in 2004
2)
the drier than normal June over the Canadian prairies 2004
3)
above average spring wheat yields in the Former Soviet Union in 2003
4)
the extremely dry June-July in Saskatchewan in 2003
5)
the warmer than normal Canadian prairie winter of 2002/2003
6)
the Indian monsoon failure of 2002
7)
the Canadian prairie droughts of 2001 and 2002
8)
the southern Alberta drought of 2000.
9)
the wetter than normal June-July over the Canadian prairies in 1998.
